When Life Gives You Lemons....

NO!  Don't ask for tequila and salt!  Well, not if your trying to reap the wonderful benefits of lemons at least.

I've started drinking warm Lemon Water every morning as a routine.  While your asleep, your body is "fasting", which is where breakfast got it's name from (breaking fast).  So, it's important to rehydrate your body at the beginning of your day.  Sometimes I even drink some in the evening, because I've read that it's recommended twice a day.  Actually, I'm drinking some right now.  There are a ton load of benefits to this drink and I thought it would be nice to share a few:
  • When you think lemons (go ahead, think of sucking on a lemon slice, I bet your mouth starts to water) you think sour and.. acidic.  Lemons actually help to alkalize your blood by raising your body's pH level (low pH = acidic).
  • I call it my detox, because it helps eliminate toxins and bacteria from your body.  Which will not only help improve the condition of your skin (including acne prone skin).
  • It's a good source of Vitamin C, which helps to give your immune system a boost making you less susceptible to infections.
  • Lemon juice helps your liver to produce more bile, which aids in digestion.
  • It decreases the amount of phlegm produced by your body.
  • Lemon is a diuretic. This means that lemon water is especially good for people with urinary tract infections, arthritis, and rheumatism.
  • Lemon can help relieve many digestion problems when mixed with hot water. These include nausea, heartburn, constipation, and parasites.
  • Lemon water also assists in weight loss, because it boosts metabolism and suppresses your appetite.

Please be advised:  "Lemons should always be room temperature. To extract the most juice and pulp from the lemon, roll the lemon around on a table or the counter a few times.  Don't microwave fresh lemons to get more juice! Why? Microwaves change the polarity of the 'molecular structure on a cellular level' of whatever you're 'nuking'. In other words, it changes the actual structure of whatever you're cooking or heating up. It also destroys a lot of the nutrients in the process." (

P.S. Warning: Lemons are acidic until it get into your body, so you'll be subjecting your teeth to acid which can wear away tooth enamel.  I advise drinking it through a straw or chewing a piece of sugarless gum to remove acidic residue from your teeth.
Do NOT brush teeth immediately after because the combo of acid and abrasives can do a number on tooth enamel.  Swish your mouth with fresh water before brushing, if you must.

  1. a teacher told me a month ago to do this cuz it will help u lose weight....cuz I was using apple cider vinegar for weight do u make this...I want to try it for my skin....It's really in bad shape these days:(

  2. yes.. i heard that it can help with weight loss too.. that apple cider thing eh sounding too appetizing, but I heard it makes a good toner (when mixed with other ingredients) for oily skin.

I just squeeze half a lemon into a cup of water warm water... if microwaving, its important to heat the water first, then add the lemon juice so that the nutrients don't get nuked

yu can also apply it topically to the skin, it will be in my next post
